ARC takes exceptional pride in advocating for all people with disabilities.
Our clinical coordination programs consist of two profoundly remarkable
departments: Supported Employment and Case Management. Hand and hand
we work to improve the quality of life of every person we serve.
Supported Employment
Our supported employment program consists of a job coach, who supports
each individual’s need to increase their job functioning. We work closely
with Vocational Rehabilitation for supported employment opportunities.
This gives people the opportunity, who are not a part of our program,
to work with ARC to find employment in the community.
Our supported employment program now serves over 30 individuals throughout
the Middle Georgia area. We are extremely excited about our current joint
venture with YKK, which employs four individuals. ARC takes pride in
the support our community has given us in the past years. We believe
that there is never a job too small or too big and that people with disabilities
should be given a chance!
Garnell’s Story
Garnell is a remarkable young woman who believes in living her life to
the fullest. She is full of energy, smiles, and laughter. Due to medical
concerns, she lost both of her legs. Even though she now has a physical
disability, she drives, cooks, and takes care of all of her daily needs
independently. Garnell is employed with YKK and her supervisor says,
“She is doing a wonderful job.” This is only one of our success stories;
there are others just as inspiring. The ARC, with support and acceptance
in the community, will continue to support people to find jobs in the
community and help them succeed.
Case Management Department
ARC understands that case management is a creative and
collaborative process. This process involves skills in assessements,
consulting, teaching, modeling, and most importantly, advocating to enhance
the optimum social functioning of every person served. This is why ARC
has Middle Georgia’s best-trained case managers. ARC case managers proudly
describe their responsibilities as “doing whatever it takes to help individuals
reach their goals!”
The goal of ARC case managers is to help those that
need assistance and/or training to manage their personal lives; sometimes
this involved coordinating with other service providers. The bottom line
is we work to ensure that all persons served by the ARC get what they
need, live a quality life, live in a safe environment, and have optimal
input into the planning process. This is why our supported employment
and case management staff works hard to provide the best for all individuals
served. |
